New shows of March

31.03.2026
New shows of March

And here's what's new on TV from March that's worth (or not worth) watching.

Marshals

The Russian release slapped "Yellowstone" onto the title right away, in case someone doesn't realize from the first frames that it's a spin-off. And if you still haven't realized it — yes, it's a Yellowstone spin-off about the further adventures of Kayce Dutton: now he serves on a team of marshals. A sort of neo-western, there's some action, it's watchable, but it doesn't grab you.

DTF St. Louis

DTF, they say, is an abbreviation from dating apps meaning the user is ready to get it on (down to fuck).

They cast David Harbour in the lead, because after Stranger Things people will watch him in anything. But then they apparently got scared of too dizzying a success and cast Jason Bateman in the other lead to balance it all out somehow. The genre says comedy, but it's not about laughing at all. It's a kind of dark irony about a love triangle and a solid midlife and marriage crisis. I wouldn't call it subtle or a masterpiece. There are interesting moments, there's all sorts of achtung, but at least it's unusual. You can give it a try; whether to finish it, I don't know yet, I'm still watching.

R.J. Decker

A show about a private detective in sunny Florida. Swamp noir, you might say. Not much like Hap and Leonard, but quite watchable, reasonably fun, reasonably interesting. I usually like this kind of thing. The lead is Scott Speedman, whom I personally remember mostly as Baz from Animal Kingdom.

Young Sherlock

I wrote about it separately, feel free to watch it.

The Capture

A spy show starring Holliday Grainger about how reptilians, the Illuminati and every intelligence agency under the sun have fun with generative neural networks in Britain, hatch conspiracies and meddle in criminal cases. The show is fine, you can watch it. And Ron Perlman is in it too, which is always cool. Season 3 is out.

Gone

A crime drama starring David Morrissey about the disappearance of his missus, which of course he's suspected of. Haven't watched it yet, but I will.

Rooster

A comedy about a writer and his daughter. Steve Carell stars. Personally, I don't like The Office, but that doesn't get in the way, the comedy is watchable. The show also has Phil Dunster, who plays Jamie in Ted Lasso, and he's funny here too.

Scarpetta

A show based on the books about the medical examiner Scarpetta, played by Nicole Kidman. And I do apologize terribly, but even Nicole's tightened-up face isn't enough to pull off cardboard characters and dull dialogue. I turned it off after one episode.

The Madison

Another work by Taylor Sheridan on the list (guess which is the other one). After a tragedy, a family leaves New York for Montana to watch Yellowstone out the window and on TV at the same time. Starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell and Patrick J. Adams. Haven't watched it yet, but they say it's better than that other work.

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen

We're shown a young couple about to get married. But something is supposed to happen at the wedding — a knife fight, or a sinister death, or an ancient curse coming true, something not very pleasant anyway. And for 8 episodes we watch the newlyweds head toward this significant event in their lives, starting from a week before. It's a horror show, so something probably has to happen. But I have a feeling I won't finish it. I watched half, it's not interesting. The recent It: Welcome to Derry was way cooler.

Grace

Season 6. John Simm stars, and you rarely get to see him anywhere these days — which is a reason to watch it. But the first seasons didn't really click with me. Maybe I should give it another try.

And tomorrow, drop by to check out April's list of premieres in the @tv_botopotamus_bot bot (in Russian).
